Guitars

There are a few things you can do to fit your guitars into the mix. First of all if you want the bass guitar to be distinct and separate form the other guitars you may want to use a high pass filter on the guitars to remove some of the low end on the guitar tracks. Also if you find that can’t have the guitars loud in the mix without them fighting with the vocals, try using a parametric equalizer to reduce the frequencies between 2 and 4 Khz. This is where the vocals cut through. By notching these frequencies out of the guitar you can have the guitar much louder and still have the vocals out front without having to have the vocals overly loud in the mix.
